On the afternoon of May 12, 2022, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) had a visit and work at the City Electricity Corporation. At the meeting, Mr. Luan Quoc Hung – Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC reported the Group’s training and human resource development orientation. Accordingly, in the coming time, EVNHCMC will focus on training human resources for the digital transformation process, preparing human resources to participate in the competitive retail electricity market (VREM), improving customer service quality, and training about management technology/operation/maintenance/repair of the power grid, training of human resources for business administration. In particular, the Group’s biggest concern in the coming period is to build a set of corporate governance criteria to measure and evaluate the maturity level and set development goals; serve as a basis for evaluating EVNHCMC against advanced power companies in the world, thereby determining a roadmap to improve corporate governance capacity to 2025, with a vision to 2045.

In the spirit of open sharing, leaders of UEH and leaders of EVNHCMC had discussions about cooperation in human resource training as proposed by EVNHCMC. Specifically:

– Cooperation in practical research in Korea:  Criteria, standards of corporate governance, human resource management models are applied in Korean power enterprises; Effective productivity management tools, software and models are being applied and deployed in Korea; Experience in implementing digital transformation in Korean enterprises, especially in the energy industry; Experience in applying risk management models and methods; Experience in applying and implementing OKR model.

– Cooperate in implementing applied research:  Research on a set of criteria or scale to rank/evaluate corporate governance capacity.

Implementing the cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation, in April 2022, UEH officially implemented “Training Program for Level 3 Managers – General Manager” Ho Chi Minh City Power Company in 2022” for 138 students working at EVNHCMC. The program aims to supplement modern corporate governance knowledge and skills for the level 3 managers of EVNHCMC. To organize the course, UEH invited teachers with practical knowledge and experience to participate in teaching and preparing classroom facilities, applying technology in class organization and management such as using App, Dashboard, LMS UEH and electronic student card.
